New steel frame design supports additional storey

The Anello is a former shoe factory which has been converted into a high-end residential development.  It comprises twenty two apartments including two penthouses in the the third floor extension which also features a glazed curtain wall allowing for spectacular views over London.

The structural engineering input of Elite Designers provided the reassurance the client needed that the existing concrete structure was capable of supporting an additional storey through the installation of a new steel frame.

The Anello development is named after the famous firm of theatrical shoemakers once based there. Anello & Davide has been making shoes for a century and still makes footwear for dancers and ballerinas in Covent Garden. Its past creations include stilettos for Marilyn Monroe, suede brogues for actor David Niven and the famous Beatle boots for a certain Fab Four.
